Chit: Privacy and Support Last updated: October 6, 2026Chit does not collect any data. Not anonymized data, not analytics, not crash reports, not identifiers. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server. What Chit collects Nothing. Chit itself sends the developer nothing about you or your use of the app.One thing is Apple's, not Chit's. If "Share With App Developers" is turned on in your device's analytics settings, Apple may share crash reports and usage statistics with the developers of apps you use, in a form that doesn't identify you. That works the same for every app on the App Store, and Chit adds nothing to it. To turn it off: on iPhone and iPad, Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements; on a Mac, System Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.Where your notes live Your notes are stored in a single file on your device, inside a shared container that the Chit app and the Chit widget both read. That file never leaves your device. Chit has no iCloud sync, no backup service, and no export to any server. If you back up your device, to iCloud or to a computer, your notes are included in that backup the same way all app data is. The developer has no access to any backup. Why this is more than a promise Chit is built with no networking code. Neither the app nor the widget contains code that opens a network connection, and neither includes any third-party code. It is not that Chit chooses not to transmit your notes. It has no mechanism to.Third parties Chit contains no third-party SDKs, no analytics libraries, no advertising frameworks, and no tracking of any kind. No data is shared with anyone, because no data is gathered in the first place.Data retention and deletion Because nothing is collected or transmitted, there is nothing held by the developer to retain or delete. Your notes stay on your device for as long as the app is installed. Deleting a note removes it from the file. On iPhone and iPad, deleting Chit removes the file and every note in it. Neither action requires contacting anyone, and neither can be undone.Children Chit collects no data from anyone, including children under 13. The app has no social features, no user-generated content sharing, and no links out to the web.Changes to this policy If Chit ever changes in a way that affects this policy, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change. Any version of Chit that collected data would require a new App Store privacy label, which is visible on the app's store page before you download it.Contact and support Questions, problems, or anything about this policy: email [email protected]
